Ante todo te cuento que se llamaba Oscar Fingal O`Flahertie Wills Wilde. Lo primero que hizo fue escribir poesía y su primer poema fue Ravenna y convirtió el estilo bohemio de su juventus en una filosofía de vida.
Siempre llevaba de joven el pelo largo y pantalones de montar de terciopelo. Su habitación estaba repleta de objetos de arte y elementos decorativos, como girasoles, plumas de pavo real y porcelanas chinas. Sus actitudes y modales fueron repetidamente ridiculizadas en la publicación Punch y en la ópera Paciencia. Se casó en 1884. En 1895, en la cima de su carrera, se concirtió en la figura central del más sonado proceso judicial del siglo, que consiguió escandalizar a toda la mojigata clase media de la Inglaterra victoriana. Wilde que había mantenido ua íntima amistad con Lord Alfred Douglas, fue acusado por el padre de éste de sodomía. Se le declaró culpable en el juicio y condenado a dos años de trabajos forzados, salió de la prisión arruinado material y espiritualmente.
Su obra es bellísima
