Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo y Calderón nació en Coyoacán, al sur de Ciudad de México, el 6 de julio de 1.907. A pesar de ello Frida decí­a haber nacido en 1.910, año del inicio de la Revolución Mexicana, porque querí­a que su vida comenzara con el México moderno.

Nacida en Costa Rica en 1.919, Chavela Vargas huyó a México cuando tení­a 14 años y posteriormente adoptó la nacionalidad mexicana.
